Dr Chris Brown has shared a warning for people who allow their dogs into the bedroom during ‘intimate’ moments during an appearance on WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda Show. The celebrity vet and TV presenter has revealed that he believes you shouldn’t allow pets in the bedroom while ‘doing the deed’.

The conversation arose when Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones asked him, “What about when things are getting hot and heavy in the bedroom?” Chris shared his strong stance on the matter.

“Do you put the dog outside the door?” Amanda Keller asked.

“I think you’ve got to. Because you can’t have it watching you,” Chris said. “They just form judgements. They’ve got very judgey eyes.

“You get that side-eye look, where it’s like, what are you doing?” he joked.

“The dog might be looking at you going, he’s thinking I’m next,” Jonesy quipped.

Chris added that the dog might be confused, adding, “Is someone getting hurt?”

Listeners thought the segment was hilarious, with one writing, “Oh Doc 😂😂.”

“I love this guy, [he’s] gorgeous,” another said.

“Do you have time to put him out?” a third questioned.

Why it’s good to have your dog sleep in your bedroom

Interestingly, a recent survey by Scratch Pet Food, one in ten Aussies won’t let their dogs see them naked, so that’s a whole lot of people who will… They also found that 28% of dogs are invited to sleep under the covers of their pawrents’ bed.

The Sleep Foundation has also previously shared data that reports 56% of people sleep with a pet in their bedroom, with 86% of puppies choosing to sleep near a human when given the opportunity.

While they didn’t provide any stats on getting it on with your pets in the room, they did say that pets sleeping in the same room or bed can actually provide several benefits. A pet’s unconditional love can increase oxytocin levels in adults and reduce cortisol levels in children.

Being around cats and dogs can also influence the bacteria you are exposed to and can impact your immunity for the better. Researchers believe that the exposure to a diversity of microorganisms benefits human health and strengthens immunity. It can also be useful to developing children and infants’ immune systems and can reduce a person’s likelihood of developing allergies to dogs and cats, as well as dust mites, blue grass and ragweed.
