A dog that can count one of its parents as a wolf has sold for £4.4m – a new world-record fee paid for a canine.
The one-of-a-kind dog Cadabomb Okami, as it is called, was sold to Indian dog enthusiast S Sathish – it was reported on Tuesday.
Okami is a cross between an actual wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd and weighs 75kg, standing at 30in tall, according to The Sun.
The giant hound was born in the US but brought to India in February through a broker to Mr Sathish, who is a well-known breeder and owns more than 150 dogs.
He said: “The dog was bred in the US and is extraordinary. I spent 50 million rupees on buying this pup because I am fond of dogs and like to own unique dogs and introduce them to India.
“He is an extremely rare breed of dog and looks exactly like a wolf. This breed has not been sold in the world before.”
But if you have some money to spend on a rarity, here are the most expensive dog breeds.
