CULLMAN, Ala. – The City of Cullman on Friday announced the relocation of the dog park at Heritage Park to a new, enhanced location at Ingle Park on the east side of Championship Field.

The new dog park will feature a larger area that includes shaded spaces, new equipment for dogs to enjoy and a conveniently located parking lot that is closer to the park. These improvements are designed to make the park more accessible and enjoyable for all residents and their furry companions. The project is estimated to be completed by November 2024.

Mayor Woody Jacobs expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Having shade at the dog park has been a need for a long time, and we are thrilled to finally bring this project to fruition. This new facility will provide a better experience for our community and their pets.”

Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Executive Director Nathan Anderson added, “We are pleased we’ll be able to refurbish the old equipment from Heritage Park for a future project at East Side Park. This not only promotes sustainability, but also enhances our recreational offerings throughout the city.”

City Councilman Clint Hollingsworth shared his personal connection to the park, saying, “As a dog lover, I enjoy taking my German Shorthaired Pointer, Wilkes, to the dog park and I believe this new location will be a great benefit to fellow dog lovers in our community.”

Residents are encouraged to visit the new dog park once it opens and to take advantage of the improved amenities.
