OKEECHOBEE – In celebration of the upcoming National Day of the American Cowboy on July 26, local author and Okeechobee native Audra Clemons is proud to announce the release of her debut children’s book, Norman the Cow Dog—a heartwarming story inspired by her deep-rooted family heritage in Florida ranching.

Drawing from actual experiences on her family’s ranch, Clemons brings to life the lovable adventures of two spirited dogs—Norman and Pancho—who serve as the heart and soul of the story. These real-life cowboy companions not only delight children with their playful personalities but also serve as a tribute to the hardworking spirit and traditions of ranch life passed down through generations.

“My hope is that Norman the Cow Dog not only entertains young readers, but also introduces them to the importance of preserving and conserving agricultural land and practices,” Clemons said. “This story is close to my heart, and I’m thrilled to share it with families everywhere.”

The book is available for purchase online through Amazon, IngramSpark, and the author’s website: AudraClemons.com. It will also be available at select brick-and-mortar retailers and libraries beginning July 26, 2025.
