Debate Rages Over Dog’s Breed as Internet Obsessed With H…

A viral video highlighting an owner’s unique dog left viewers speechless over his adorableness and sparked debate over his breed.

In a February 3 TikTok video posted to the account @havocs_space, a unique dog named Havoc calmly stood directly in front of his owner with his tail wagging slightly. His beautiful and distinct eyes looked up at the camera. The owner wanted to capture the dog’s fur and features and show Havoc off because, as the text on the video explains, few people know about or hear about this dog breed.

Hoping people would guess the dog’s breed, the owner hinted in the caption that Havoc is “part wolf.” The dog’s cute and rare look quickly went viral on TikTok, bringing in over 12.1 million views, 2.7 million likes and 16,100 comments.

Viewers instantly became obsessed with Havoc, claiming his breed is known as a “cutie patootie.”

Another commenter wrote: “You CANT say no to that face.”

A third person commented: “He looks like as if someone tried to draw a wolf from memory.”

Several users flooded the comment section, saying they believed Havoc is a Blue Bay Shepherd, which the family agrees with. The owner told Newsweek via TikTok that the family believes Havoc looks most like a Blue Bay shepherd, or at least he is based on that dog mix. If that is the case, the American Kennel Club does not recognize this dog breed.

“His previous owners said he was a mix of Siberian husky, malamute, and German Shepard,” the owner said.

The family does not have confirmation on Havoc’s exact breed as they have not conducted a DNA test.

What Is a Blue Bay Shepherd?

The Blue Bay shepherd is a new dog breed created by Vicki Spencer, Newsweek previously reported. In 1994, Spencer started working with wolfdogs that could potentially serve as the foundation for a new breed. However, the first litter of this unique mix did not arrive until 2011.

Spencer created a dog with the intelligence and beauty of a wolf mixed with the trainability and willingness to please that German shepherds exhibit. They sport a slate-gray coloring and piercing, light eyes.

Spencer is currently the only breeder for Blue Bay shepherds. She has been breeding and refining the breed by selecting animals based on individual potential and how they complement each other.
