Katallage Wellness Center, a new holistic health business in Shirley, has received $50,000 in loan financing from the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp., the economic development arm of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce.

Katallage will use the funding to create five full-time and two part-time roles at the center, according to a press release issued on Wednesday by the chamber.

“With the support of the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp., I have the opportunity to become a business owner in my community and to offer evidence-based treatments, therapies, acupuncture, and yoga as a complement to their health, mental health to achieve optimal results,” Dr. Henri Balaguera, founder of Katallage, said in the press release.

The wellness center offers a number of services, including IV therapy and ozone therapy, according to its website.

Kattallage joins Rise and Grind Cafe and Smoothie Bar in Fitchburg, DivineTouch Home Health Care in Worcester, and Adams Farm and Slaughterhouse in Athol as some of the businesses receiving funding from NCMDC since 2023.
