What happens when you combine breeds like a Bloodhound, Greyhound, and Mastiff? You get the rare Catahoula Leopard Dog—also known down south as the “wolf dog”—and their color markings are unlike any other pup.
Or at least, that’s what Catahoula sisters May and Summer thought.
The day Mom brought home their puppy sister, a Dachshund named Jellybean, all of their coats looked like they belonged together.
When it comes to @theleopardcrew, May and Jellybean rule the roost. The identical-looking gals became fast friends the day May arrived and rarely leave each other’s side.
Though there’s a 3rd dog in the bunch, Summer, it’s May and Jellybean who are inseparable.
With the incredible markings on both the Cathoula Leopard Dogs and the Mini Dachshund, it’s almost like they came from the same litter. If you watch the 21-second long enough, their coats blend together in the world’s cutest optical illusion.
They were clearly made for each other and May is a great big sister, teaching little “JB” the ways of the world. Look at how much fun they have!

Catahoula Leopard Dogs are working dogs who are fiercely independent, and without proper socialization, they can become territorial or protective. With a little guidance and training, they’re affectionate, loyal, and gentle pups with loads of energy.
These high endurance babes requires a moderate amount of regular exercise and mental stimulation to feel their best, which is why May is thrilled to have Jellybean by her side.
Catahoulas are considered relatively rare, and they’re the only breed of dog to have historically originated in the state of Louisiana. In fact, they’re mostly found in Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast but are harder to locate in other parts of the U.S.
However things happened, the fates aligned to bring the tiny Dachshund puppy to her big sisters, that’s for sure.
It doesn’t matter that May and Summer are a completely different breed. Jellybean is all Catahoula in her heart!
