Interestingly, Delaware and Virginia have the same top three dog breeds.
U.S. News analyzed data including dog breeds and zip codes from Fletch, a pet insurance company, to determine the nation’s most popular dog breeds, the website says.

Nationwide, the top three dog names are:
Max falls at fourth on the nationwide list; Cooper falls at ninth. In fact, Cooper wasn’t in the top ten at all last year. The only other state in which Cooper is the most popular dog name is North Dakota.
U.S. News speculates Luna’s popularity stems from the “Harry Potter” character, but the word also means “moon” in Spanish and Italian.
