Dog Talks ‘Smack’ After Owner Says No to Walk in the Park

Every dog owner has lived through (and dreaded) the scene when your pup wants something, and they’re determined to make sure you know it. For Mimosa, that “something” is a trip to the park. He’s not about to let his mom off easy when she says “no”. The video captures the hilarious back-and-forth between a stubborn, personality-packed Brindle and an exhausted human. Between the side-eye and the dramatic grumbles, Mimosa turns a simple “no” into a full-blown production.

Instagram video shows how dog reacts to being declined a walk in the park

It didn’t take long for the video to take off. One watch is enough to understand why. It starts with Mimosa sitting on the couch, eyes locked on his mom. The in-video text sets the scene: “He smacked me out of my sleep, wanting to go to the park.” When his mom says, “I just woke up, I’m not in the mood,” Mimosa immediately begins his protest. There’s grumbling, little barks, and even a stomp or two for emphasis.

His mom tries reasoning with him, reminding him it’s wet outside. Mimosa isn’t having it. He even lowers his volume on cue when she says, “inside voice.” Somehow, that makes his muttering even funnier. Then comes the pièce de résistance: a dramatic paw smack on her leg. He follows it up with a grumble that sounds suspiciously like, “I don’t know,” when she asks why he’s hitting her.

Viewers couldn’t get enough of Mimosa’s sass. One fan declared, “That dog has more personality than any dog I have ever seen.” Another added, “He was most definitely a human in his past life.” With more than 68k likes, it’s obvious this brindle boy’s meltdown hit home with a lot of people. Honestly, it’s hard not to disagree with the commenter who summed it up best: “This ain’t just a dog, it’s a little baby boy in doggo form.”
