Dil Dosti Aur Dogs is all set to steal your heart this February
Mumbai, 25th February 2025: February is set to wrap up on a joyful and heart-warming note with JioHotstar’s upcoming film, Dil Dosti Aur Dogs. It’s a first-of-its-kind Hindi film that explores the profound and transformative role that dogs play in our lives. Through an interwoven narrative, the film portrays the unique bond between humans and dogs, highlighting their impact on emotions, relationships, and well-being through the scenic landscape of Goa. At the heart of it, Dil Dosti aur Dogs is a moving tribute to the love, joy, and companionship that dogs bring into human lives. Directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Viral Shah, the film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Masumeh Makhija, and Viral Shah under the production houses of Jio Studios and The Creative Tribe, Dil Dosti aur Dogs is set to stream on JioHotstar from 28th February 2025.
Featuring a stellar cast of acting talents including Neena Gupta, Masumeh Makhija, Sharad Kelkar, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Keerti Kelkar, Tinu Anand, Ehan Bhat, and Tridha Chaudhary, Dil Dosti Aur Dogs brings together incredible performances alongside the heart-warming story of our furry companions.
Neena Gupta on playing Bethany Lawrence in Dil Dosti Aur Dogs said , “Playing this character was a deeply emotional experience for me. She’s a woman who has suppressed her passion and distanced herself from the world, but through an unexpected companion, she learns that life still has so much to offer. It’s a beautiful journey of rediscovery, and I connected with it on a personal level. Working with Viral Shah was an absolute delight as he has such a clear vision and yet allows us the creative space to truly own our characters. The entire cast brought so much warmth to the set, and it felt like a family. I especially loved sharing the screen with my incredible co-stars, each bringing something unique to the story. Sharad Kelkar who essays the character of Sanjay added, “Sharing screen space with Keerti was special, but what touched me the most was my bond with my on-screen daughter. It made me reflect on my relationship with my real daughter and brought us even closer. Working with dogs on set was such a joyful experience—it reminded me how effortlessly they bring warmth into our lives. Viral Shah, being a dog lover himself, ensured that the canine characters were treated with as much importance as us, making it all the more heartwarming. Keerti on playing the character of Neelima, said, “ This experience was truly special for me, especially since I was acting after a long time. Getting the opportunity to work with Sharad made it even more memorable. As a dog lover myself, being part of a film with so many of them was an absolute delight. Viral’s vision brought everything together seamlessly, and my co-actors made the journey even more incredible.”
Kunaal Roy Kapur on playing the dynamic character of Arjun said, “This film was a dream for me because I’ve always been a pet lover. My character has a unique arc since he’s flawed, vulnerable, and ultimately learns that love sometimes comes in the form of a wagging tail. Doing this alongside Masumeh was truly refreshing as she brings so much life and creativity to the table. I’m certain that JioHotstar’s reach will ensure this heartfelt story finds its way to audiences who will truly appreciate its essence ”.
Trida Chaudhury on essaying the character of Rebecca, added , “ The starcast of our film are the furry friends. They make the film a happy space where we all find ourselves immersed in Simple joys and the comfort of Unconditional Love. Playing a character like Rebecca who has so much of Warmth and empathy for dogs and humans has been something that I’ve drawn inspiration from a dear friend. All of us surrendered to the real moments created by our Director Viral and to the incredible cinematography by Ayananka Bose. A meet cute rom-com with Ehaan that is flavourful with a lot of Happy barks and emotions. I’m truly looking forward to Dil Dosti aur Dogs premiering this Feb on JioHotstar .”
Masumeh Makhija, actor and producer, Dil Dosti Aur Dogs said, “ Dil Dosti Aur Dogs is one of those films that tug at your heart and as a pet lover myself, had to be told. Both as an actor and as a producer, the film has been creatively satisfying. Ehan Bhatt on playing Sunny , “ Before this film, I never thought much about having a pet, but after working with dogs on set, I realized the unconditional love they bring. It was an eye-opener. Working with Tridha was fantastic as our chemistry evolved naturally, just like the love story in the film. Viral’s passion for the subject was inspiring, and I am grateful to have been part of a project that celebrates love in such a unique way.”
