    CANFIELD, Ohio –
The Canfield Heritage Foundation is currently in the planning stages for a potential new dog park for the area.

Canfield City Councilman and Heritage Foundation President, Bruce Neff tells 21 News the park is currently in its planning stages and that he had gotten permission from the Western Reserve Historical Society to build it.

Currently, Neff is looking for volunteers for the project. Neff is working with architects to determine the cost of the project

Neff says the park would be located a Loghurst Western Reserve in Canfield. He hopes for the park to have one side for smaller dogs and a separate side for bigger ones.

Additional features would possibly include a pavilion with a roof for shade, a pond and an agility course for dogs to exercise on.

At this point, there is no time from for when the park may come into fruition, but Neff is hoping for it to be up and running by the summer.

Neff tells 21 News he’s currently working to schedule a day sometime later this week to conduct a public meeting for dog owners in the area to express what they’d want to see in a local dog park.
