In recent years, there has been a noticeable trend in India where dog owners are increasingly pampering their pets. This includes spending more on luxury items, grooming, specialised diets, and even medical care. While this reflects a growing sense of attachment and care for pets, it has also led to a rise in certain health issues among dogs. Many pet owners are indulging their dogs with rich, high-calorie foods, treats, and even human-like lifestyles, leading to obesity and related health problems like diabetes, joint issues, and heart conditions. Additionally, the overuse of grooming products, often not suited for all breeds, has…

The Kennel Club of the United Kingdom has officially recognized the Hungarian Mudi, a rare herding breed, with effect from July 1, 2025, reads the organization’s statement. The breed will be listed in the Pastoral Group under the Imported Breed Register, marking a significant milestone for both the breed and its enthusiasts in the UK. Until an interim breed standard is established and published by The Kennel Club, the Mudi will not be eligible to compete in breed-specific classes at Kennel Club-licensed shows, they stressed. However, recognition itself is a crucial step forward for the breed’s visibility and preservation. Though…
A three-legged dog rescued from the streets has experienced love and loss after being adopted by a Louisiana woman with a disabled therapy dog.Pippa was a 2-year-old mixed breed in need of urgent care when she was first brought to the Southern Animal Foundation in Louisiana back in 2017. “She was found roaming the streets of New Orleans with a broken leg after being hit by a car,” Lydia Crochet told Newsweek. “Her leg and tail were amputated, and after several months of rehabilitation, she was placed for adoption.”Crochet first learned about Pippa after being contacted directly by the rescue.…

There are many reasons to be terrified of Project 2025, the 900-page document published by the Heritage Foundation that lays out, in great detail, how the next Republican president should lead and reshape the country. (Donald Trump claims to have nothing to do with the group, which is not believable in the slightest.) The manifesto calls for getting rid of the Department of Education. It calls for giving the president total power over certain government agencies that are supposed to be independent. It provides a roadmap for decimating reproductive rights, and says it wants to “maintain a biblically based, social science–reinforced…
“Originating in Germany several hundred years ago, Miniature, Standard, or Giant Schnauzers tend to be gentle, playful and inquisitive dogs,” says Gemma. “They are full of personality, and like many dogs, need lots of physical and mental stimulation with plenty of exercise. They generally don’t shed as much as other breeds but do require regular coat maintenance. “They will need a good brush two-three times each week, and they’ll also need to be hand-stripped or clipped a couple of times per year. They naturally have a long-bearded face, which is often enhanced by a professional groomer.”

Amy Sussman/Getty Images Danny Trejo’s Danger Dogs recipe is the perfect dish for your Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations. “Invented in Tijuana and cooked by street vendors outside of L.A. bars and Dodger Stadium, it’s what culinary street-level Hispanic culture is all about,” the actor turned restaurateur, 79, exclusively shares in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “It reminds me of Gameday and gathering the familia together,” he notes, “and it’s the OG L.A. snack.” The California native’s recipe comes from his latest cookbook, Trejo’s Cantina, which hit bookstores earlier this year. In addition to acting in over 400 movies and…
