“Originating in Germany several hundred years ago, Miniature, Standard, or Giant Schnauzers tend to be gentle, playful and inquisitive dogs,” says Gemma.
“They are full of personality, and like many dogs, need lots of physical and mental stimulation with plenty of exercise. They generally don’t shed as much as other breeds but do require regular coat maintenance.
“They will need a good brush two-three times each week, and they’ll also need to be hand-stripped or clipped a couple of times per year. They naturally have a long-bearded face, which is often enhanced by a professional groomer.”
