A new trailer for The Odyssey, director Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic poem of the same name, is out now. With the film set for a July 17 release in theatres, including IMAX screens, Nolan has started promotions for the film. In a recent interview, the filmmaker spoke about the challenges of filming in IMAX, adapting a foundational piece of literature for the big screen, the connection between Greek epics and superheroes, and dogs.
Speaking on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Nolan said that The Odyssey is “the ultimate dog story”. The new trailer for the film offers a sneak-peek into Argos, who is the dog of King of Ithaca Odysseus, played by Matt Damon.
As for Nolan, the part featuring Argos is “one of the greatest moments in the story” about the King of Ithaca’s arduous journey back home after The Trojan War.
