When it comes to colder months, one popular craze that many households latched onto for keeping warm was the Oodie. Featuring an oversized jumper design with a hood, the Oodie provides constant cosy comfort by surrounding you in a fluffy fleece.

And we aren’t the only ones who have enjoyed the trend, as many pet owners have regularly found their canine companions cuddling up when the Oodie is on – or in some cases completely stealing it for themselves.

As the temperatures start to dip, we want to also make sure our four-legged pals have a comfortable way to fight off the cold. Well owners can now make sure their dogs aren’t missing out on the action, as Oodie has created the Original Dog Oodie.

Priced at £29, one of the most popular designs is the Space Black Original Dog Oodie. This cosy piece is essentially a mini version of the original Oodie. It features a double sided flannel fleece design -that will prevent dogs from overheating – with two sleeves for the front paws and a hood.

With a gap to easily attach a leash for going out and about on a walk, your puppy will be able to keep toasty-warm and cosy throughout the colder months. The Oodie is able to be machine washed, but it is recommended that this is done on a gentle cycle that is only up to 40C maximum.

Featuring a double sided flannel fleeze, which will keep your dog snug and cosy without overheating, the dog Oodie also comes with a hood and two front paw sleeves. The Oodie is available in four sizes.

There are currently four sizes for pet owners to choose from -XS/S, M/L, XL/XXL AND XLP. Oodie states that the XS/S is suitable for small dogs and Chihuahuas, while the M/L would suit Cavaliers and King Charlie Spaniels. For the XL/XXL, this would fit a standard Poodle or a Labrador, with the XLP fitting Rottweilers and German Shepherds.

If pet owners would like to shop around a bit more, Amazon is selling the Elite Paws Luxury Drying Coat for between £17.99 and £32.99 depending on the size of dog you have. While this coat is more designed to help dogs dry off after being outdoors, it is said to provide a soft and velvety design.

Alternatively, Next is selling a Joules Navy Blue Dog Knit Jumper for between £18 and £22 in sizes small, medium and large. Boasting a cricket-inspired knit design, this jumper will provide a great layer for when out on walks in the colder months.

Back to the Dog Oodie, the Space Black edition currently has a 4.8 star rating from over 100 shoppers. Many owners gushed over how much their pups loved the hoodie, but some were dubious about the sizing.

One delighted customer wrote: “After stealing mine everyday I thought she deserved her own, best decision ever!! She loves it so much and keeps her nice and warm.”

While another five-star reviewer added: “We bought our Shih Tzu Bindi her own Oodie. She loves it. It’s soft, warm, colourful and looks great. It does run big, we need to roll up the legs for her.”

However, one customer did grumble: “Loved it but far too small and quite hard to put on as it’s smaller than we envisaged. We bought the biggest size too. The dog likes it once it’s on but the sleeves are not that roomy under the arms. Easier to get off than on as we can pull it over his head and he can step out of it.”

With another shopper cautioning: “Great quality but sadly the large didn’t fit my dog around the chest. I would recommend it for smaller breeds.”

Despite this, one happy shopper bought it for their Stafford and said: “She gets cold at night so this is the perfect one for her and not too warm as the full leg pjs would be.”

A sixth reviewer also commented: “Floasie got very excited when we pulled out her space Oodie. She paraded it around for compliments for a whole day. Love the button in the hood so it doesn’t flop over her eyes going downstairs, very considerate.”

Shoppers can now make sure their four-legged pals are nice and toasty this winter with the Dog Oodie.
