People Can’t Figure Out What Breed This Dog Is—and It Turns Out, He’s Super Rare

If you’ve ever seen a big, fluffy dog that looks part wolf, part teddy bear, and thought, “Wait… what breed is that?” you’re not alone. This gorgeous pup completely stumps the internet, and honestly, I get it. With that thick coat, pointed ears, and soulful eyes, this dog looks like it wandered straight out of a fairy tale.

People keep guessing everything from a Chow mix to a Samoyed to aHusky, but nope, he’s actually a Eurasier, one of the rarest dog breeds out there. There are less than a few hundred of them in the U.S., which explains why so many people have never even heard the name. Once you see one, though, you’ll never forget it. They’ve got that perfect “majestic forest creature” energy but with the sweetest, most cuddly personality imaginable. Just check out this adorable baby named Eros.

The TikTok clip was shared on the @alleyesoneros account, and people keep trying to guess what breed he is in the comments.

“Is that an Akita?” one person asked. “It’s a Chow-Chow,” someone else said.

    “Yugoslavian Shepherd?” another person asked.

When the creator said what dog breed he is, one person replied, “I have never heard of this breed before, but he is so cute!” He really is!

These gorgeous pups are pretty rare, and Dogster indicates, “There are about 9,000 registered Eurasiers in the world. Eurasiers aren’t very common, and most of them are found in Germany and Switzerland. However, they’re gaining popularity due to being known as good family dogs. Although they’re less common in the U.S., you can find a few active Eurasier breeders in several states.”

    More About Euraiser Dogs

Dogster explains, “Eurasiers have both European and Asian dogs in their lineage. The Chow-Chow is native to China, while the Samoyed is native to Siberia, and the Wolf Spitz originates from Germany. Therefore, Eurasiers are a combination of the words ‘European’ and ‘Asian,’ and they’re also known as Eurasian dogs.”

The United States Eurasier Club explains, “The Eurasier is versatile and adapts well to a variety of lifestyles. Confident, calm, and well-balanced, he is loyal to the entire family, but reserved toward strangers. They thrive as companions and often enjoy participating in companion events, such as agility and obedience, where the bond between dog and human is nurtured.”
